Olamide: An Actual UY Scuti, A Star!

If fans and rivals and fans of rivals come together to agree that you’re a star, then you. are truly a one-of-a-kind superstar. A declaration Olamide is finally making with the title of his new album.

With a career spanning over a decade as a rapper, singer, songwriter and label owner, Olamide has paid his dues and more in the industry. Boosting talents like Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh and Fireboy DML to thrive in their respective careers.

Today, 18th of June 2021, Badoo released his eleventh studio album, UY Scuti – a ten track album – and like cement over a surface, Olamide sealed and confirmed his arguable Artiste of the Decade title.

Although he introduced this vibe in his last album “Carpe Diem”, the lead single of this album “Rock” is also a smooth song with a soft touch of sweet undertone where all you need to do is sit on the beach, cross your legs and sip a glass of your favourite brand. This vibe caught me off guard because, like a lot of people out there, I’m used to the vocal, harsh and brash Olamide.

The intro “Need For Speed” is a tune that you feel in your soul while it sends chills down your spine. The lyrics, vocals, delivery and production quality scream top notch handling.

After several listens, I’m sure we all have our favorites, and if possible, it’ll be all for me. However, I have favourites like Somebody, Need For Speed, So Much More, Julie and of course, Rock.

The album lasts only 28 minutes and is highly recommended for good vibes, chills and relaxation because this is literally Badoo at the softest he’s ever been.

I love this new sound BaddoSneh is dishing out, but I’ll miss the Olamide of Street OT and Eyan Mayweather. Will you miss that side of Badoo too?
