Banké Music: The Extra Sound!

The beautiful city of Lagos is a hub for creativity and amazing talents who thrive in different parts of the state, and serve as brilliant exports to the world. Lagos-born Banké, is no exception.

Her journey to being a musician began at a tender age where she performed at various musicals and won inter-school competitions from the young age of six.

Her passion and relentless desire to be an awesome musician made her bag a degree in Music at the Obafemi Awolowo University, and another degree in Sound Engineering.

Banké is notable for her electrifying performances with her band ‘Dcollagé band’ in popular musical and non-musical events for reputable brands like Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Britain Association, MakeMusic Lagos, Landwey Investment and Ebony LIfe Place.

Her songs and creativity allow her pop-infused talent to tap into the atmosphere of love and bask in the euphoria of tenderness, encouragement and hopeful living. It features her. ability to write and perform without hesitation.

The first taster for her solo debut was the Duktorsett-produced ‘Mirror’ which appeared in late 2018. She released her second official single, ‘Lights’ in 2019 and a third, ‘Jeje’ was released a year later.

Banké’s latest single, ‘Count My Blessings’ is now out on all digital streaming platforms. The highlife-infused Afropop single is produced by Duktor Sett and serenaded by K-note of the Cavemen, providing the bass, and David Rhinoo on the lead guitar.

When asked how she feels about the song, she said with a big smile on her face, “The song is about recognizing life as a gift. Regardless of what is happening, or how we are feeling.” Banké is telling us to count our blessings.

Banké is one artist with an obvious upward momentum. She has been steadily making strong moves right from her time in the University.
